Women’s Summit in the Insurance Sector: Building the Future
The General Manager of Magdeburger Insurance, Ceyhan Hancıoğlu, emphasized in her impressive speech at the ‘Women’s Summit in the Insurance Sector’ organized by the Association of Women Insurance Professionals (KASIDER) at Boğaziçi University, that women’s participation in the workforce is essential for building a sustainable future.
Hancıoğlu stated that women are successfully present in every field regardless of the sector today, drawing attention to the fact that girls should not be deprived of their right to education. In this context, she expressed that families have a significant responsibility.
The Rising Role of Women in the Insurance Sector
Hancıoğlu pointed out that the number of female employees in the insurance sector is above average compared to other sectors, noting that the total proportion of female employees within the company is 51%. She also expressed pride that 5 out of the 10 executives on the board are women.
She stated that they are pleased with the increasing interest of women in the insurance sector in parallel with the development of the industry, emphasizing that women’s progress in this field is very valuable.
Right to Education for Girls
Hancıoğlu shared her views on access to education rights for girls: “We sadly witness the difficulties that girls in our country grow up with and how they do not fully utilize their education rights. It is vital for a strong future that our girls can exercise their right to education. This is a matter that cannot be postponed or given up. Therefore, we all, especially families, have great responsibilities. As Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said, the true mothers of society are strong women. Of course, to be much more enlightened and virtuous, they must fully utilize their educational rights. Equipping our girls with education is essential for a strong Turkey.”
